Councilman Jeff Johnson

Two years ago the former mayor, John Ballensky, invited me to fill a vacancy on the City Council. I have served the Third Ward now for two years and I am up for re-election this fall.

I serve on three city committees. I am a member of the Water and Street Committees and I am chairman of the Finance Committee. I am also Mayor Pro-tem.

I am employed as Bank Manager and Vice President of MidWestOne Bank in Sigourney. My wife, Linda, and I have lived in Sigourney for five years now. We have six adult children and a handful of grandchildren. I am presently the SADC President and the SENECA Treasurer.

Being a part of the City Council has given me another excellent outlet for community service. I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of city government. We have a special group of dedicated and competent people running our town from the City staff to the new Mayor to the other Council members.
