Councilwoman Connie McLaughlin

I was elected to serve on the city council, as third ward representative in January 2012. My current committees are:  Park and Recreation (chair); Water; Street and Sanitation.

I was raised in Sigourney and married my husband Andy, also from Sigourney, in 1977.  We have three adult sons, Craig, Kyle and Keith and have seven grandchildren.  My hobbies include: gardening, antiquing and refinishing furniture.

I am an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sigourney where I teach 7th and 8th grade religious education; serve as a Eucharistic minister and Lector.  I am also a member of the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society.

I have been employed by Keokuk County Health Center in Sigourney for 20 years as the Coordinator for:  Quality and Performance Improvement, Medical Staff and  Readiness.  My experiences and passion for quality service will assist me in my role as councilwoman.
